Alumni Weekend Action

Bears bare a banner for Alumni at a science-oriented panel

CoF welcomes alumni

Bears laid bare the state of climate doublespeak as we connected with alumni who want Cornell to become a climate leader.

Cornell on Fire welcomed alumni back to campus with an invitation to help their alma mater become a climate leader. Unusual suspects included a polar bear (bearing the sign “Phantom Species Syndrome”) and a familiar brown bear holding the banner “Big Oil + Big Red Climate Hypocrisy” (referring to our recent report launch).

Climate-minded alumni were cordially greeted as they departed a carbon capture panel hosted by The Atkinson Center. We then moved to entertain a captive audience of 1200+ alumni in line for the Bailey Hall Olin Lecture featuring Andrew Ross Sorkin, whose work includes analyses of the role of Big Money and Big Oil in the climate crisis.
