Robert Howarth speaks to Reclaim Earth Day

Bob Howarth is a Cornell Professor of Ecology & Environmental Biology whose research has advanced our society’s understanding of environmental issues and fossil fuel emissions. His scientific advocacy was instrumental in the New York State Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, and he has worked to advance Cornell University’s climate accountability and action. In 2011, Time Magazine named Howarth as one of 50 “People Who Matter” for his research on the greenhouse gas footprint of shale gas produced from hydraulic fracturing. Dr. Howarth was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal as “The scientist fossil fuel companies can’t stand.”

On April 22, 2024, Dr. Howarth gave an address to Reclaim Earth Day on The Ithaca Commons.

With gratitude to Dr. Howarth, we repost the video of his speech hosted by Striking Distance.
